"Back in sickbay" Doctor Seth Medical Officer USS Sulu http://come.to/dr.seth Doctor Catelina Cia NPC Medical Officer USS Sulu Doctor Seth returned to sickbay. The medical ward had calmed down considerably since the ship first encountered the planet-killer. Initially there were a lot of injuries that needed attending to, but now, since the Sulu was in a planning mode and simply following the hulking machine, the triage teams had caught up with the work load. Seth glanced around looking for Chief Medical Officer Kobichev. When the Lieutenant was no where to be seen, Seth figured he was still meeting with the rest of the senior staff discussing how to deal with the machine before it consumed Sigma Rogallis II and the millions of people on that planet. While looking for the Chief Medical Doctor, Seth was noticed by Doctor Cia. "Looking for someone Doctor?" Catelina asked with a friendly smile. Seth looked over at the Trill officer. Cia was gathering up the discarded wrappings of the various medical supplies the trauma team had used. Seth returned the smile with one of her own as she stepped over to lend a hand. "I was looking for Doctor Kobichev. Have you seen him?" Seth asked. "He went to a staff meeting with the Captain about that thing we are chasing. He didn't really know what he was going to be able to contribute to the meeting, but went just the same." Catelina smiled and offered her free hand to Seth. "You look new around here. I am Doctor Cia." "Doctor Seth. Pleased to meet you Doctor." The half Vulcan nodded. "So where did you come from?, if you don't mind me asking?" Catelina asked while moving her armful of disposables to the nearest reclamation unit. Doctor Seth gathered some of the waste and joined Cia. "My last assignment was the Pasteur. I did my internship on board that vessel." "The Pasteur? That's a medical vessel, isn't it?" Cia asked while waiting for the reclamation unit to dematerialize the deposited waste. Seth nodded. "Yes. That is correct." "I imagine you saw a lot of action during the Dominion war?" Catelina expressed with curious eyes. "Indeed. The Pasteur assisted in gathering and treating the wounded on the front lines." Seth nodded while placing her waste supplies into the reclamation unit. "I guess this whole planet-killer thing is nothing compared to that experience." Cia commented. "On the contrary. I find it quite different." Seth admitted. "On the Pasteur, we would treat the wounded after the battles had already been fought. Occasionally there would still be hostilities, but for the most part, we simply rescued the wounded and saved those that we could medically." Doctor Seth paused. "But this planet-killer?. . ." Cia prompted. "This planet-killer is consuming entire planets. If we do not succeed in finding a way to stop or divert it, millions of people on Sigma Rogallis II will be vaporized and digested by that mechanical monstrosity. The Dominion had no weapon half as devastating as the destructive powers of that machine. If they had, I do not think the Federation would have been victorious." Seth explained while watching the last of the waste disintegrate in the reclamation unit. "I see what you mean." Catelina nodded. Seth glanced at Doctor Cia and smiled to lighten the tone a bit. "How about you Doctor?" "Me? The Sulu is my first assignment. But Cia, my Symbiont , has served on a couple of Starfleet vessels. Cia's last host, Zand was Chief Medical Officer on board the Gillian before he retired." Catelina smiled proudly. "Well, that certainly is an accomplishment. So you enjoy the Medical profession then?" Seth asked. "Yes I do. I like helping people. Making them feel better." Doctor Cia explained. Seth nodded. "I understand that Doctor. I feel the same way. Being able to help is very rewarding." She agreed. "Would you like to have a cup of coffee some time Doctor?" Catelina asked, "I'd love to hear more about your time on the Pasteur." "That would be delightful Doctor. I would also look forward to hearing more about your past hosts." Seth smiled. "Great. Then when this is all over, we can hook up in Ten Forward." Doctor Cia smiled. "Well if you will excuse me Doctor, I have a patient to check in on." "Of course Doctor. It was nice meeting you." Seth returned with a friendly smile. "You too Doctor." Catelina replied with her own warm smile. Seth watched as the Trill Doctor walked back to the bio beds to check on her patient. With a satisfied nod, she walked over to the board to see what was waiting to be picked up from triage.
